Yes, Please Meat Lasagna

 

Full tummies and happy humans are the rewards you’ll reap after serving Yes, Please, Meat Lasagna. Prep + cook time is just over an hour, and you don’t even have to boil your lasagna noodles! Baking for under an hour gives you al dente noodles,
but the extra sauce used helps them to not taste overcooked as your reheat it.

2 POUNDS LEAN GROUND MEAT

16 OUNCES SMALL CURD COTTAGE CHEESE OR RICOTTA CHEESE

16 OUNCES MOZZARELLA CHEESE, SHREDDED

8 OUNCES PARMESAN CHEESE, SHREDDED

(2) 24-OUNCE JARS MARINARA SAUCE

1 BOX NO-BOIL LASAGNA NOODLES

1/2 TEASPOON GARLIC SALT

1/2 TEASPOON GROUND BLACK PEPPER

1 TEASPOON FRESH BASIL, CHOPPED

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° Fahrenheit.

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add ground meat and brown well;
    drain the grease.

  3. Add garlic salt, pepper, fresh basil, and one jar of marinara sauce; stir well.

  4. Add cottage or ricotta cheese and stir to incorporate; simmer for five minutes.

  5. Open second jar of marinara sauce, and add one cup of sauce to the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish; spread evenly with a spatula.

  6. Add two ladles of meat sauce to the casserole dish; spread evenly.

  7. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese, and stagger three lasagna noodles (see below)
    over the cheese.

  8. Repeat layers two more times, and finish the top layer with mozzarella and
    parmesan cheese.

  9. Spray a sheet of foil with cooking spray and cover lasagna; cut holes for venting.

  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes and serve.
